Charles Munka grew up near Lyon, in France, before moving to Asia (Tokyo, Shanghai and now Hong Kong) where he explored the impact of geography on human experience, and fueled his inspiration exploring the gigantic urban playgrounds these cities have to offer. His style is strongly influenced by both Manga and Hip Hop culture, and it's no surprise he's also art director of the BTS label. Those familiar with Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder crew will also recognize Munka's craft.
Munka has exhibited in France, Japan, LA, Hong Kong, and most recently has been commissioned to create works for Joyce Boutique Art Galleries in Hong Kong and Beijing. He was also a finalist in the 2012 Asia Contemporary Art Show Young Artist Prize.
